EcoKabadi’s digital platform is designed, built and owned by Lacspace, and provided to EcoKabadi under a proprietary commercial license. This page summarises those terms.
Protected software, powering an open mission
While EcoKabadi’s mission is to open up recycling for everyone, the technology that runs it is proprietary. Lacspace retains full ownership of the platform’s software, source code and AI models. EcoKabadi is granted the right to use and operate it — nothing more, nothing less.
This protects the years of engineering behind the platform while letting EcoKabadi focus on serving households, businesses and collectors across Nepal.

All software, source code, AI models and creative assets remain the exclusive intellectual property of Lacspace.

EcoKabadi operates the platform under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable commercial license.

This software is not provided under MIT, GPL or any other open-source license — no rights are granted beyond those stated.
Governed by law
The agreement is governed by the laws of Nepal and India, with the jurisdiction set out in the master agreement.
01Ownership & intellectual property
Lacspace retains exclusive intellectual property ownership of all software, source code, AI models, designs and creative assets that make up the EcoKabadi platform. No title or ownership is transferred to any user or client. Under no circumstances is any of this proprietary software provided under an MIT, GPL or any other open-source license.
02License grant
EcoKabadi and its authorised users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable commercial license to use the platform for its internal business operations only. The license is tied to a specific software version and paid term as set out in the master agreement between Lacspace and EcoKabadi.
03Restrictions
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to discover the source code; resell, sublicense or redistribute the software; create derivative or competing products from it; or remove any proprietary notices, branding or marks. Any such action terminates the license immediately.
04Trials & free services
Trial versions and any free services are provided strictly “as-is”, with no license rights to the underlying software, and may be modified or terminated at any time without notice.
05Termination
The license terminates automatically upon any breach of these terms, at which point all use of the software must cease immediately. Provisions relating to ownership, restrictions and liability survive termination.
06Warranty & liability
The software is provided with reasonable care but subject to broad warranty disclaimers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lacspace’s aggregate liability is capped at the amounts paid for the software in the preceding twelve (12) months.
07Governing law & jurisdiction
This license is governed by the applicable laws of Nepal and India, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction specified in the master agreement between the parties.
